In addition to being President and CEO, Corey Thomas is also a member of the Rapid7 board of directors. He has more than 15 years of experience in leading companies to the next stage of growth and innovation. His previous positions include VP of Marketing at Parallels, Inc., a virtualization technology company; Group Project Manager of the Microsoft Server and Tools division, launching the worldwide availability of SQL Server 2005 and steering product planning for Microsoft’s data platform; and a consultant at Deloitte Consulting. Corey received a B.E. in electrical engineering and computer science from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Co-Founder, MIT Media Lab
Nicholas Negroponte is the co-founder of the MIT Media Lab (1985), which he directed for its first 20 years. A graduate of MIT, Negroponte was a pioneer in the field of computer-aided design and has been a member of the MIT faculty since 1966. He gave the first TED talk in 1984 as well as 13 since. In 2005, he founded the non-profit One Laptop per Child which deployed $1 billion of laptops for primary education in the developing world. In the private sector, Negroponte served on the board of directors of Motorola for 15 years and was general partner in a venture capital firm specializing in digital technologies for information and entertainment.

Lee Weiner brings a wealth of security and product leadership experience to Rapid7, where he is responsible for leading the directions and delivery of Rapid7's entire product portfolio. Before becoming Chief Product Officer, Lee was VP of Products at LogMeIn, Inc., a provider of cloud-based remote connectivity solutions. He has also held leadership roles at several software security firms, including Netegrity, Inc., IMlogic, Inc., and Symantec Corporation. Lee received a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
Senior Vice President, Customer Success & Sales Strategy, Rapid7
Stephanie brings over 15 years of experience in sales execution and go-to-market roles where she built and managed global sales programs, operations, and strategy. Stephanie has held leadership positions in a number of fast-growing software companies, including early roles at Allaire, Macromedia, and Adobe, each of which have influenced her commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences. Stephanie joined Rapid7 in 2011 to lead business strategy and sales operations and then as the chief of staff working with the executive team to facilitate strategic planning and cross-functional initiatives. In her current role, Stehanie leads the customer success and sales strategy teams. Stephanie received a B.A. in public administration and a MBA from Suffolk University.
Vice President, Community & Public Affairs, Rapid7
Jen Ellis is Rapid7’s Vice President of Community and Public Affairs. She believes security practitioners are the guardians of Society’s trust in technology, and works extensively with security professionals, technology providers/operators, and various Government entities to promote better collaboration. She believes this is our best path to reduce cybercrime and protect consumers and businesses. To this end, Jen also provides free skills training to security professionals so they can get greater buy-in and achieve more positive security outcomes. She has testified before Congress and spoken at numerous industry events.
Chris Nickerson is the CEO of Lares, and has more than 19 years of experience in the security industry, with specific expertise in real-world attack modeling, red team testing and adversarial simulation. At Lares, Nickerson leads a team of security professionals who conduct risk assessments, penetration testing, application testing, social engineering, red team testing and full adversarial attack modeling. Prior to starting Lares, Nickerson held senior positions at Arrow, KPMG and Sprint. He is a contributing member of many security groups, founded the Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES), and was featured on the television show Tiger Team, which aired on TruTV. He cohosts the Exotic Liability Podcast, is the author of “RED TEAM TESTING” – an upcoming book published by Elsevier/Syngress – and a founding member of the BSIDES Conference.
CTO and Co-Founder, Veracode
Chris Wysopal is the CTO and co-founder of Veracode, which was recently acquired by CA Technologies. He sits on the Black Hat Conference Review Board. Chris (@WeldPond) started his career as one of the first vulnerability researchers with L0pht, the hacker think tank that testified before Congress in 1998. Chris is one of the developers of the venerable Windows password cracker, L0phtCrack.
Mary Beth Borgwing

Mary Beth Borgwing is a Cyber Executive Entrepreneur for the Accelerator 2.0 at MACH 37. Currently, she also serves as a managing partner at CyberBridge Group, a cybersecurity advisory firm bridging the leadership gap and providing cybersecurity SME for new cyber products for venture investment and Fortune 1000 clients. Borgwing has served as executive leadership, CEO and board member of several technology and security companies, including LemonFIsh, Advisen, Vigilant, and Sentillion. She has extensive experience in IT-GRC, Enterprise Risk Management, Forensic Accounting in the financial services sector and brings decades of expertise to start-ups in strategy, operations, and product development. Borgwing is a frequent speaker on cyber risk at global cyber conferences and contributing author to many national cyber publications.
Chief Information Security Officer, In-Q-Tel
Dan Geer is a cybersecurity futurist and risk management icon, best known for raising awareness of critical computer and network security issues before the risks were widely understood, and for ground-breaking work on the economics of security. Dan is the chief information security officer at In-Q-Tel, the nonprofit support arm to government agencies that keeps the U.S. safe.
